Thread starter rikfrombelgium Start date Mar 29, As I understand it, the CM is series is more upscale on both materials and high tones, fine details.

However, although I do listen to music mostly radio though the main usage would be for Cinema series, movies I have the impression that, although cheaper and less refined, the series would suit me best. What are your impressions? These are the 2 set-ups I had in mind. I understood that the CM do need a better AV, is this also the case for the series? Medrep1 Novice Member. How big is your room, how loud do you like to listen?

I use to have series powered by three reasonably powerful stereo amps, 2x, 2x 2x and it was not until I upgraded to an amp of w per channel did they suddenly spring into life. Bearing in mind I owned these speakers and amps for almost 10 years and I thought I knew them very well? It all boils down to budget and the SPL levels you expect to listen at. Ive heard the 's with the very good yamaha Z7, 7. If you were on a set budget, then the 's with a better reciever would be great.

If you were to throw caution to the wind then the CM's with a powerful multuchannel amp, or seperate stereo amps is the way to go! You can always cheat and use a higher crossover in your reciever, send the heavy work to the sub I love the CM range, and would buy those on looks alone! Gamers will appreciate the low input lag. This is a decent TV for watching movies. Blacks in a dark room look more like gray due to the low contrast ratio and the poor black uniformity, and the inefficient local dimming can't help improve that.

The SM can display judder-free movies from most sources including its native apps and has a motion interpolation feature for those who enjoy the soap opera effect. The rating remains unchanged.

Finally a TV For Gaming? - LG Nano Cell

Our own review unit sits right between the two, at 65 inches. Because OLED technology offers remarkably consistent picture quality, we feel very comfortable saying that our performance test results are likely indicative of similar quality in the models of other sizes.

And because all three models feature the same processing hardware and smart TV features, we're confident in extending our recommendations to these other sizes. The company leverages the unique properties of OLED technology to make a remarkably thin and elegant display that strips the panel down to the essentials of a glass panel and a layer of printed OLED pixels, backed with a gleaming layer of brushed aluminum, with a gunmetal finish that oozes style.

This is the sort of slimness that makes you stop and stare, even if you've looked at dozens of premium TV designs. Without the stand, the LG C9 measures 57 x Most of the thickness is at the bottom of the TV, which is less than 2 inches thick overall and houses the set's internal components and speakers.

The top half of the TV, however, is an impressive 0. The only things to surpass it are LG's own Wallpaper and Rollable designs, which push the display-on-glass concept to even more innovative ends. That design offloads most of those same components to reduce the TV's thickness. The C9 sits lower than most sets, thanks to a low-slung stand design. The brushed-metal stand looks just as elegant as the rest of the TV and provides a slight contrast with the darker finish of the TV cabinet.

The included stand offers a very solid footing for the slim TV, and well it should, weighing nearly 20 pounds by itself.

The stand uses a single wide, flat foot centered in the middle of the screen. This stand also extends back several inches, providing a wide base that manages to be unobtrusive as it anchors the inch TV.

You can use a channel in the stand to tuck cables out of sight and keep the unsightly snarl to a minimum. The TV itself weighs The base attaches easily with a screwdriver, but you'll want to make sure that the TV is laid flat on a safe surface where you can place the stand.Quality industrial design is usually measured by its subtlety, and this one scores high with its pleasing, graceful, low-key look.

The CMs' cabinets are superbly constructed and finished. The brushed-aluminum baffle plate, the tweeter ring's lower curved accent, the look, shape, and color of the other two drivers, and the smooth, almost seamless veneer of light maple the system is also available in rosenut and black ash add up to a visual elegance that will go well in many living rooms.

Surprisingly, the floorstanding CM 4s are unshielded, and therefore not intended for placement directly next to a CRT television.

The 3-foot-tall CM 4's rear port makes near-wall placement somewhat problematic. The result is reduced midbass output. This arrangement is said to provide the advantages of a large bass-radiating area from two drivers, while limiting intermodulation distortion and other problems associated with forcing a single large bass driver to handle the midrange and low bass.

The low-frequency response is rated down to 38Hz. The CM 4s strike me as offering extremely good value for the money—at least from a physical standpoint. The CM C is magnetically shielded. It features the CM 4's bass-midrange unit and tweeter. Response is rated down to 65Hz -6dB at 49Hz. You'd be correct, but once you add the cost of high-quality stands, would it still be worth it?

There is also a moving, bullet-shaped "phase plug" at the center of the bass-midrange cone designed to reduce the directionality of that driver's top-end response. That's what I love about reviews of home-theater speakers: no obsessive moving and aiming. Most of you will have next to zero flexibility when it comes to placement, and so do I.

Ask my wife. But I also tried running the fronts full-range for both movies and surround-sound music, to see how that sounded. Please enable JavaScript to activate all application features. It can't produce deep, uniform blacks. Motion looks decent overall, as it has an excellent response time, but there are duplications in motion from the backlight flicker. It can remove judder from true 24p sources, but not from movies played from a 60Hz source, like a cable box. Great TV for watching TV shows during the day. The image remains accurate when viewed at an angle. It has a great selection of apps, and most streaming channels are available. This is a very good TV for watching most sports. It has wide viewing angles and excellent reflection handling, good for watching the big game with a group of friends.

It has an outstanding input lag at all supported resolutions, and its response time is equally exceptional, with very minimal blur in fast-moving scenes. Unfortunately, it doesn't support any variable refresh rate technology, but it does have an 'Auto Low Latency Mode', which saves you the trouble of having to switch picture mode every time you want to play.

Additionally, it can't display a wide color gamut and it can't get bright enough to bring out small specular highlights. It has outstanding low input lag, and an excellent response time.
